What to expect

1

Hamburg City Hall

The Hamburg City Hall is the seat of the Hamburg Parliament and the Senate of the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg. The architecturally magnificent building on the Kleine Alster was built from 1886 to 1897 in the historicist style of the Neo-Renaissance.

St. Petri Kirche

St. Peter's Church is Hamburg's oldest parish church. It is named after the Apostle Peter and is one of Hamburg's five main churches.

3

Kornhausbrücke

The Kornhausbrücke has been built over the Zollkanal. The Zollkanal runs along the northern edge of the Speicherstadt and, until 2013, formed the customs border between the Altstadt and the then free port area. It was expanded into a shipping canal at the end of the 19th century from existing bodies of water (Binnenhafen, Dovenfleet, Oberhafen) to bypass the free port area, which was newly created in 1888.

4

Main Church of St. Katharinen

Sankt Katharinen is one of Hamburg's five main churches. Its 13th-century tower shaft is considered the oldest standing structure in Hamburg that still fulfills its function.

5

Trostbrücke

Trostbrücke spans the Nikolaifleet in Hamburg. It originally connected the episcopal Old Town around the area of the Cathedral and St. Peter's Church with the count's New Town. From the Middle Ages until the Great Fire of Hamburg in 1842, this was the secular center of the city and the innermost part of the harbor.
