St. Nicholas’ Church was originally built in the 12th century, but was severely damaged during World War II. The surviving tower and remains of St. Nicholas’ Church now serve as a memorial and observation platform. It symbolizes the city’s wartime history and honors those affected by conflict.

After your free time at the Rathaus, the bus will take you on a scenic drive through Gänsemarkt, past the State Opera, Dammtor Station, and the university, and on to famous landmarks such as the TV Tower (Hertz Tower), Planten un Blomen, and, if … possible, the bunker at Heiligengeistfeld, before continuing to the lively Reeperbahn district.
At the end of the tour, you will have the opportunity to visit the Beatles monument on the Reeperbahn, an iconic tribute to the place where the legendary band began its career in Hamburg’s famous red-light district.
At the end of our tour, the bus will conveniently take you back to the port, leaving at least 1–1.5 hours before the ship’s departure.
