Description
During this tour, I will show you places where Jews, who made up 30% of Warsaw’s total population before World War II, lived and perished during the Holocaust. You will see preserved remnants of the former ghetto walls, the installation depicting the bridge between the small and large ghettos, monuments to the heroes of the Warsaw Ghetto, the Umschlagplatz, from where Warsaw’s Jews were deported to the Treblinka extermination camp in 1942, the still-functioning Jewish cemetery, and the Nozyk Synagogue, the only one to survive the war. We will also see the Jewish Historical Institute, the pre-war Judaic Library, and the Museum of the History of Polish Jews, known as Polin.

Jewish Cemetery
The cemetery is well preserved, and we can see the graves of famous Jews who contributed to Polish culture and science, mass graves from World War II, and the graves of prominent rabbis. Closed on Saturdays (Sabbath).

Nozyk Synagogue
It is the only synagogue in Warsaw to have survived the war because the Nazis converted it into stables.

Chlodna Street
Here you can see the installation showing where the bridge that connected the small ghetto with the large ghetto stood. Some photographs from that time may also be displayed. You can also see the house where Adam Czerniakow, the president of the Judenrat, lived and died.
