The tour takes you along the most important and beautiful sights of Krakow’s Old Town, surrounded by the green ring of Planty Park. Part of the tour follows the Royal Route, but it also includes a visit to the old university district, Planty Park, the Church of St. Francis of Assisi, the Slowacki Theatre, the Adam Mickiewcz Monument, and St. Mary’s Basilica with its 19th-century altar from the 15th century (approximately 20 minutes). The route then follows Krakow’s oldest streets, Grodzka and Kanonicza, and ends at Wawel.

Kazimierz
Kazimierz in Krakow is a special place that developed over many centuries as a Christian-Jewish district. Jews came here in the mid-14th century and lived until the beginning of the 19th century in a separate “Jewish town” enclosed by today’s Miodowa, Wawrzyńca, Wąska, Józefa, and Bożego Ciała Streets. It was an autonomous enclave governed by internal Jewish authorities. Its only sovereign was the king, in whose name the voivode of Krakow exercised authority over the enclave.
Today, Kazimierz is one of the best-known areas of Krakow. The district, characterized by its cultural and artistic life, attracts especially those who want to experience the spirit of Krakow’s bohemians. The streets of Szeroka, Izaaka, Miodowa, Józefa, and Podbrzezie, as well as Nowy Square (Żydowski), are home to the most popular cafés, established studios, and galleries.
