This 3-hour tour takes you into the fascinating world of the colorful Jewish district, while also helping you understand the most terrible tragedy in world history.
Full tour description
Guests will be picked up from wherever they are staying (from their hotel or apartment, etc.). This means that tourists do not have to walk around Warsaw looking for the meeting point.
First, we will drive to Zlota Street to see the only original preserved section of the Ghetto wall
First, we will drive to the monument commemorating the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising during World War II. We save time by traveling by car—we can show tourists more interesting places.
Next to the Monument to the Ghetto Heroes stands “POLIN”—the Museum of the History of Polish Jews. Its special design and the 1,000-year history of Polish Jews presented there create a very interesting, unique, and interactive museum in Warsaw. Guests have the opportunity to visit it on their own after our tour (it usually takes about 2 hours).
Then we will take a short walk to Zamenhofa Street. Guests will take a closer look at the Jewish Martyrdom Route.
Our next stop is Mila Street. At Mila 18, we will show guests a bunker where the commander of the Jewish uprising committed suicide.
After the bunker, we will drive to Umschlagplatz. The guide will show you and explain why it is one of the most heartbreaking places in Warsaw. At this square, the Nazis loaded Jews into carriages and took them to Treblinka—an extermination camp. Umschlagplatz also features a wall engraved with typical Jewish names. The wall symbolizes the former Ghetto walls and commemorates the victims of the Nazi regime.
About 2 kilometers from Umschlagplatz, the guide will drive our guests to the Jewish cemetery with old, typically Jewish tombstones. Buried there are Jewish spiritual leaders, activists, artists, and other honored people.
Later, we will visit the Old Synagogue. It is the only pre-war synagogue that was not demolished during World War II.
At the end of the tour, we will pass by the Jewish Theater. Today, it is the only theater in Warsaw that produces plays in Yiddish.
After 3 hours of a highly emotional tour, we will take you to the POLIN Museum (if you would like to visit it on your own) or to your hotel.
