A remarkable place and definitely a must-see for all visitors to the Polish capital.
The Old Town consists of the town square, surrounded by characteristic tenement houses, and a centrally placed fountain with a sculpture of a mermaid, the city’s symbol, without which the square would be almost unimaginable. Other elements of the Old Town include Castle Square, with the Royal Castle next to it, and Sigismund’s Column. Not far from the Old Town are Piłsudski Square and the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier.
A series of streets known as the Royal Route begins in the Old Town. The Royal Route is the city’s best-known thoroughfare and connects two former royal residences. The Old Town features numerous atmospheric cafés, restaurants and art galleries.

A magnificent Baroque-Classicist royal castle on Warsaw’s Castle Square. Originally, it was the residence of the Dukes of Mazovia and, from the 16th century onwards, the seat of the governing bodies of the Polish–Lithuanian Commonwealth: the king and the Sejm (the lower and upper houses of Parliament).
In the 1920s and 1930s, it was the seat of the head of state and the residence of the President of the Republic of Poland. During a visit to the Royal Castle in Warsaw, you can see, for example, the royal chambers built for King Stanisław August Poniatowski, as well as the Sejm chambers. The most outstanding rooms are the Throne Room, decorated with red velvet and gold, the Knights’ Room and the Ballroom, featuring the largest ceiling painting in Poland.
The permanent exhibitions include the Gallery of Paintings, Prince Joseph’s apartment in the Tin-Roofed Palace, and the multimedia exhibition “The Destruction and Reconstruction of the Castle”. The Royal Castle, together with the Old Town, has been inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List.

The POLIN Museum of the History of Polish Jews is a museum in Warsaw that documents the centuries-old history of Jews in Poland.
The museum wonderfully presents the contribution of Jews to the development of Polish culture, economy, and science.
In the virtual library, you can view masterpieces of Hebrew and Yiddish literature in multimedia form: the Talmud, as well as religious, philosophical, and moral works. You can also print the title page of a 16th-century book at the press; this is just a small part of the adventure with Jewish culture offered by the museum. Visitors can explore multimedia exhibitions showing how Poles and Jews lived together for many hundreds of years and how the two cultures blended with each other. In the conventional exhibition space, you can learn about family and neighborhood relationships and explore Jewish-Christian relations. It is a significant part of the human history of this city.
