We will reach Poblet Monastery, a Cistercian abbey declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It is a large architectural complex with almost 1,000 years of history, one of the three largest and most complete in the world. We will continue our journey into the region where Priorat wine originates. A visit to one of the wineries in this region is essential to understand the richness of its flavors and the geology of the soil.
In Siurana, we will discover this spectacular place perched on a rocky hill. There are two essential highlights: the remains of a 9th-century Arab fortress and the Church of Santa Maria, a 12th-century Romanesque church. We will visit the wineries and taste some of the best wines in the area.
We cannot allow the region to remain unexplored without seeing the Cartuja de Escaladei, the first Carthusian monastery established on the Iberian Peninsula, with 1,000 years of history, of which only archaeological remains survive.
