ADMISSION FREEEPHEMERA and its polyamorous relationship with video:A multimedia journey through time with the Hamburg women’s newspaper as tour guide. bildwechsel offers journeys through time into the Hamburg women’s/lesbian scenes of the last century—this time with destination tips from the Hamburg women’s newspaper HFZ (1976–1999). We found matches for these in the video collection and digitized them.This allows you to travel back once more to the activist beginnings of Hamburg’s women’s/lesbian scenes—in texts, sounds, and video. Also included: brief visits to the early history of HIQFF. You can look forward to videos on monitors and individual viewing stations, as well as an installation centered around the archived issues of HFZ, with special attention to lesbian contributions and references to art and culture—and as always: encounters and conversations over tea from the samovar.On Friday, October 16, 2026, bildwechsel will also present the film THE HERETICSwww.bildwechsel.orgwww.ilovebildwechsel.orgwww.facebook.com/bildwechsel.hamburgFor over 45 years, bildwechsel has been an umbrella organization for women+/media/culture, collecting, archiving, and exhibiting materials by international women+ artists and filmmakers/video artists. In Hamburg, there is a huge document archive and more than 10,000 videos/films, including collections of works by trans*, intersex, and queer creators. There is also a video museum for restoration work and digitization technology.
