The exhibition also highlights important topics such as food waste, additives, health, and the future of nutrition with innovative approaches.Admission is free and the exhibition can be visited during the regular opening hours of the greenhouse at the Botanical Special Garden. This project was realized as part of the Voluntary Ecological Year (FÖJ) and is aimed at everyone who wants to learn more about the origin and impact of our food and reflect on their own eating habits.Take the opportunity to look behind the scenes of food production and gain new perspectives on what ends up on your plate. Im Sommer 2026 erleben Sie im Botanischen Sondergarten ein ganz besonderes Highlight: das Phasoleum – Die Bohnenschau der beSONDERen Art! Im Phasoleum entdecken Sie die faszinierende Vielfalt der Bohnen und ihrer engen Verwandten. Zahlreiche Arten und Sorten wachsen und gedeihen in dieser einzigartigen Ausstellung und bieten spannende Einblicke in die Welt der Hülsenfrüchte. Die Ausstellung richtet sich an alle Interessierten – ein Erlebnis für Groß und Klein! Besonderer Hinweis: Die Bohne wurde zur Giftpflanze des Jahres 2026 gewählt. Die Homepage zur Giftpflanze des Jahres und das Phasoleum bilden gemeinsam ein Umweltbildungsduo und bieten vielfältige Informationen und Aktionen rund um die Bohne. Fabelhafte Fabaceae – Von Bohne, Erdnuss und Mimose Die vom Verband der Botanischen Gärten konzipierte Ausstellung „Fabelhafte Fabaceae – Von Bohne, Erdnuss und Mimose" ist in diesem Jahr im Botanischen Sondergarten Wandsbek zu sehen. Auf 15 großformatigen, thematisch gestalteten Tafeln werden verschiedene Aspekte der Pflanzenfamilie der Fabaceae (Hülsenfrüchtler) anschaulich präsentiert. Die Ausstellung beleuchtet unter anderem Gewürz- und Heilpflanzen, Färberpflanzen, wertvolle Nutzpflanzen sowie besonders schöne Vertreter dieser vielfältigen Pflanzenfamilie. Die Besonderheiten und Nutzungsmöglichkeiten der Fabaceae werden dabei ausführlich erläutert. Die Ausstellung wurde uns freundlicherweise vom Loki-Schmidt-Garten, Botanischer Garten der Universität Hamburg, zur Verfügung gestellt. Wir freuen uns auf Ihren Besuch im Phasoleum!

Desde afuera, no se puede saber si una planta es venenosa o no. En esta visita guiada, los participantes conocerán plantas que deberían observar pero no tocar ni consumir. No se requiere conocimiento botánico previo.Recuerda: ¡Nunca una planta venenosa ha atacado a un ser humano!Hortus es la palabra latina para jardín. Las actividades tituladas "Gartenwissen @hortus" se llevarán a cabo como eventos presenciales en el Jardín Botánico Especial. On the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the Wandsbek Botanical Special Garden, District Administrator Thomas Ritzenhoff invites you to a press tour. Together with citizens and press representatives, structural and botanical historical features will be presented during a tour of the garden. Furthermore, new plants will be presented that were recently integrated into the garden and continue to enrich the tradition of the former school garden.The tour will be led by Helge Masch, the head of the Botanical Special Garden, who has been working in the garden for 43 years. Mr. Masch will guide you through the garden, offer exciting insights, present selected plants and special features, and be available for questions.We look forward to your participation and an inspiring exchange in the anniversary year of the Wandsbek Botanical Special Garden.Registration required!
