Kali Linux is a free Linux distribution designed for digital forensics and penetration testing. A penetration test is understood as the examination of all system components and applications using means and methods that an attacker would employ to gain unauthorized access to the system. This course is not intended for experienced hackers/penetration testers or experienced Linux administrators. Instead, it is aimed at those who want to get an insight into the possibilities of a penetration test. We will start with the basics of Kali Linux and how to initiate a penetration test.

The threats from the internet continue to increase. We deal with both classic and new attack patterns on your systems, your WLAN routers, and your data in the clouds. The threat scenarios from hacker attacks have changed in recent years. While attacks still occur by exploiting security vulnerabilities, they increasingly exploit user errors rather than software faults in the system (e.g., in user management, no antivirus scanner active, no updates, insecure passwords). In this course, we explore Hamburg's spectacular architecture via the steps. The Kontor houses in Hamburg impress with beautifully designed entrance halls and staircases. We will explore some of the most exciting buildings in the city center, and I recommend bringing charged batteries, a wide-angle lens, and a standard focal length. A short theoretical introduction of 45 minutes beforehand will prepare you for the interior shots in the old Kontor houses. After the practical part, there will be a discussion and analysis of the recordings.
