English Church - Anglican Church of St Thomas Becket

We cordially invite everyone to get to know the English Church in Hamburg. We are one of the oldest Anglican congregations outside of England. The congregation was founded in 1611 by a trading guild, the Merchant Adventurers. The current church at Zeughausmarkt was consecrated on November 11, 1838, after its construction. The church was named St. Thomas à Becket, the patron saint of the Merchant Adventurers, after its reopening after the war in 1947.
