For the Mozart anniversary year 2026, the duo duopoli will return to Alt Osdorf to the St. Simeon Church and present their new program "RoadTrip Mozart". In the unique instrumentation of trumpet and saxophone, they interpret Mozart's first Italian journey of 1769 in their own way, combining historical research with modern nomadic life.What sounds like a romantic adventure today was a logistical masterpiece in 1769: thirteen-year-old Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart traveled through Italy with his father Leopold for fifteen months. The musical couple Höflich has repeated this venture in the 21st century. In their van, they followed the historical route over the Brenner Pass to the Adriatic Sea, always guided by the original letters of the Mozart family.The musical yield of this journey forms the heart of the new program. With trumpet and saxophone, duopoli breathes new life into the works of Mozart as well as his contemporaries Gluck, Boccherini, and Beethoven. The result is a musical road trip that combines the spirit of the young genius with the freedom of modern nomads.The approximately 1-hour concert will take place on Sunday, September 6th at 6:00 PM in the St. Simeon Church in Hamburg-Osdorf, and everyone is warmly invited. Admission is free; the musicians would be delighted to receive donations.
