Andrea Hauck &Manfred Jahnke

"Culture on the Barge" – The Riverboat Church invites you:"Gang of 4 – A literary afternoon with four Hamburg authors"This afternoon, we welcome the Gang of 4 aboard the Riverboat Church. The members of the Gang, the four Hamburg authors Margret Silvester, Christine Sterly-Paulsen, Reimer Boy Eilers, and Jakob Krajewsky, will present their own texts. The themes they explore literarily are diverse. Maritime themes are featured, as well as descriptions of Christian-Jewish ways of life or the punk scene in London. Critical engagement with political changes in our society is also present. Geographically, the four do not limit themselves to Hamburg or the North, although that region – Helgoland, for example – also plays a role. In their texts, they travel worldwide and take us to places like Portugal or Madagascar. They pour all this into various literary forms such as short prose, poetry, or essays.Look forward to an inspiring, thought-provoking, and entertaining afternoon on board with the Gang of 4.Doors open 4:15 PM (a church service takes place beforehand)Registration not required, reservations not possible

Insights into the Work of Inland Navigators in HamburgWe want to take a closer look: What significance does inland navigation have for Hamburg? Who are the people who operate ships on inland waterways and transport goods? Where do they come from and what is their (working) daily life like? What does the future of inland navigation look like? What are particular challenges? We want to discuss these and other questions with stakeholders from the Port of Hamburg and inland navigation.Further information is available here.OrganizersChurch Service in the World of Work - Hamburg Office
