From the concert series "Musical Medley - Music on Sunday evenings at Friedenskirche"Summer is a celebration of colors in nature, life becomes lighter, and the soul is free and carefree. Danish composer and clarinetist Mikael Börresen has turned these feelings into music and presents his musical kaleidoscope here together with Michael Turkat, organ and piano.Mikael Börresen describes his feelings about summer and the music that arises from them as follows: “When the sky is blue, the sun is yellow, nature is green, and the flowers are red, then we know that the shadow of winter has disappeared for a time. Now the ‘real’ life begins: our soul is like in an eternal dance, free and carefree. Like holding onto summer, the music forms a sonorous framework around this precious season; it arises in the space of infinity like dancing, joyful rhythms.”Mikael Börresen studied composition and clarinet in Copenhagen and Vienna and made a name for himself with diverse compositions, CD recordings, and radio productions.Michael Turkat studied organ and church music in Lübeck and was organist and cantor at the Versöhnungskirche in Hamburg Eilbek from 1979 to 2020. His diverse concert activities at home and abroad have also often led him to the Friedenskirche in Eilbek in various ensembles, most recently with the band “On The Rocks”.He shares a long-standing musical friendship with Mikael Börresen.Admission is free.
