Hardly any instrument radiates as much warmth as the cello. To ensure that this remains the case even with sound bodies that are centuries old, they need regular check-ups. For many cellists, the first port of call for this is the workshop "Geigenbau Schellong Osann" on Kaiserkai.Whether fine-tuning shortly before a concert or more extensive repairs – Nikolaus Osann finds the individual sound for everyone. He also specializes in creating exact replicas of instruments by Guarneri del Gesù – the luthier who, alongside Stradivari, is considered the most famous of his craft and whose instruments are worth a fortune today.At "Insight Cello," Osann invites you into his workshop near the Elbphilharmonie and offers exciting insights into his work.Also present is the young cellist Petar Pejčić, who is touring Europe's major concert halls this season as a "Rising Star." The two discuss their different perspectives and illustrate how they work together to find the perfect sound for a concert.
