How to support incarcerated individuals – how does that work? How do you get into Hamburg's prisons? How is Hamburg's correctional system structured? What support do incarcerated individuals receive to live crime-free in the future? What is daily life like behind bars? What impact does imprisonment have on relatives? The Hamburger Fürsorgeverein von 1948 e.V. trains committed citizens who visit people who have committed offenses, both inside and outside of prison, accompany them, cook with them, play games, provide tutoring, meditate, and much more. They gain insight into Hamburg's correctional system landscape and the living conditions of incarcerated individuals. We provide information about the volunteer preparation course, the conditions for entering prisons, and the opportunities to support prisoners as a volunteer. Speaker
