Jens Harzer & Maria SchraderOn the tenth anniversary of the death of Roger Willemsen, the great reader, thinker, and storyteller. Roger Willemsen and books – that was a passionate, inexhaustible love story. His literary estate has now yielded the book "Liegen Sie bequem? Vom Lesen und von Büchern" (Are you comfortable? On reading and books), edited by Insa Wilke. In it, Willemsen speaks about reading – with sparkling irony, an analytical eye, and above all, with infectious enthusiasm. He pays tribute to great authors, mocks the literary scene, formulates "10 Rules for Readers," and reflects on fairy tales, obscenity, and human rights. The evening with Maria Schrader and Jens Harzer is a homage to all who read, think, and question. An invitation to marvel: a celebration of reading, language, and an insatiable curiosity about the world. And we encounter him again, the great friend of thought, as a passionate advocate for literature – witty, insightful, and profoundly human.Jens Harzer was a member of Dieter Dorn's ensemble at the Münchner Kammerspiele and the Bayerisches Staatsschauspiel for 16 years. In 2009, he moved to the Thalia Theater Hamburg, and later worked closely with Johan Simons at the Schauspielhaus Bochum. Since autumn 2025, Harzer has been at the Berliner Ensemble. In film, he has worked with directors including Michael Verhoeven, Tom Tykwer, Wim Wenders, and Hermine Huntgeburth. Since 2019, he has been the recipient of the Iffland-Ring.Maria Schrader, born in 1965, is an actress, screenwriter, and director. She has received numerous awards for her work, including the German Film Award, the Silver Bear at the Berlinale, and the German Audiobook Award. As a director, she gained international recognition with "Vor der Morgenröte" (Louis van Beethoven); the Netflix miniseries "Unorthodox" earned her a Primetime Emmy for Outstanding Directing for a Miniseries in 2020.
