Do you have a best friend? Or even both? Then you're in luck. Because a BFF like that is the best thing that can happen to you. At least, that's what I believe. Because I don't find it easy at all to find someone who likes me just the way I am. And with whom I feel that warm, cozy feeling in my stomach when I'm with them. This concert is about friendship and why being different isn't so bad and can even connect two people in a special way.

A church musician from Augsburg at the Hamburg State Opera! He has been a member of the ensemble since 1991, and 2026 will mark his final season: Jürgen Sacher can truly tell tales from the opera world, not least because he himself has filled it to the brim with artistic versatility. Honored with the title of Hamburg Kammersänger in 2017, his broad repertoire ranges from the lyrical Spieltenor to character roles, from the Gingerbread Witch in Hänsel und Gretel to Wagnerian roles such as David, Loge, Mime, or Strauss's Herod in Salome. For one September evening, Jürgen Sacher will be in the spotlight at the opera stabile to look back with you on a life story that also tells 35 years of Hamburg opera history.

Curtain up for Eros and Thanatos! The drives for love and death, as controversial fundamental forces of humanity, determine this opera evening, where the subconscious holds the strings. In the nested ruin of facades by Stéphane Laimé, Jan Bosse's production unmasks a society that tolerates transgressions as long as they are elegantly executed, and only reacts when everything has already been destroyed.
