Oxygen depletion in the Elbe, crab fishing in the North Sea, coastal protection: What does climate change mean for our city and northern Germany? We are visiting the University of Hamburg’s Climate Excellence Cluster to explore this question. It brings together the university’s climate research, the Max Planck Institute for Meteorology, the Helmholtz-Zentrum Geesthacht, the German Climate Computing Centre, TUHH, and HCU.
After a presentation on the latest research findings and the question, "What can I, as a citizen, actually do about climate change?" there will be ample opportunity for discussion. At Haus der Erde, the new location for climate research and geosciences, we will be guests of Dr. Martin Döring from the Institute of Geography.
