Son Nica – Music from Nicaragua Six musicians from Nicaragua will set the mood with Central American rhythms. 7:30 PM Welcome and introduction of the cooperation between the diocesan partnership, the Catholic community of Spanish speakers, and the aid organization Adveniat 7:40 PM: Group Candela Viva – Dances from South America Candela Viva – living flame – is a group for traditional Colombian dances. The word Candela is a synonym for fire as a transforming element: it provides light and warmth, brings people together, and at the same time symbolizes joy of life, passion, and inspiring energy.

Adveniat is the Latin America aid organization of the Catholic Church in Germany and annually supports around 1,000 projects throughout Latin America and the Caribbean. This year's Adveniat annual campaign emphasizes the role of women as encouragers of hopeful paths out of poverty. Panel discussion on the situation of many women in Latin America: Violence dominates everyday life in many places, and access to education and income is often limited. Nevertheless, women manage everyday life in many places. Networks of solidarity help women to claim their rights in order to develop self-determined perspectives for themselves and their families.
