The colorful St. Georg, a small district located right by today's main train station, owes its name to a leprosy hospital that existed here outside the city walls during the Middle Ages. This negative image was something the district only lost in the early 20th century. Today, St. Georg is a particularly vibrant neighborhood with numerous hotels and variety theaters. A quaint district, which we already recognize at the Heidi-Kabel-Platz, where the city tour starts. However, St. Georg has the most diverse corners. The Lange Reihe with many beautiful and extravagant restaurants, the Hühnerposten and the Münzviertel, the Steindamm with its multicultural diversity, and also the chic houses and hotels directly on the Außenalster all belong to this diverse neighborhood. All of this will be explored on this tour, both in history and in the present.
