Das Heiligengeistfeld bezeichnet im engeren Sinne ein gut 20 Hektar großes Veranstaltungsgelände, auf dem vor allem der Hamburger Dom stattfindet. Im weiteren Sinn werden auch nordwestlich daran angrenzende Gebiete bis zum Neuen Pferdemarkt dazugerechnet; die Gesamtgröße beträgt etwa 50 Hektar.

    The DOM is a piece of Hamburg tradition and is a guarantee for play, fun, excitement, and nostalgia. The term dates back to a gathering of merchants, craftsmen, and jugglers who – after some disagreements, received the right in 1337 to stay in the Marien-Dom during "Schietwetter." At the end of the 19th century, the showmen then found their "new home" in Heiligengeistfeld.Family Day: Every Wednesday reduced prices for all visitors  Fireworks: on the opening day and additionally every 2nd Friday during the DOM period
