    周五 25.09. 17:00 - 19:30
    朗读
Journalist and author Susanne Beyer reads from "Kornblumenblau," her book about her grandfather, on Friday, October 25, 2026. The evening begins at 7 p.m. at Kleiner Michel, Michaelisstraße 5, 20459 Hamburg (S-Bahn Stadthausbrücke, U-Bahn Rödingsmarkt).Susanne Beyer never met her grandfather. He died under mysterious circumstances in the final days of World War II. Who shot him? And what was his actual role in the Nazi state?Almost every family harbors secrets: Did parents or grandparents commit crimes during the Nazi era? What do the stories passed down from generation to generation conceal? Eighty years after her grandfather's death, Susanne Beyer tries to uncover the truth. In doing so, she becomes increasingly aware of the consequences the past has for her own life.A moving book about a search for clues and the impact of family secrets on the present. With many helpful tips for anyone who wants to find out more about their own ancestors: How and where do I research? And how do I deal with it if it turns out my grandfather was a member of the NSDAP?The reading is another evening in favor of the social and cultural project "Preserve the Ledigenheim!" in Hamburg's Neustadt. The series has existed since the summer of 2014 and now looks back on 120 evenings. In August 2020 – early in the months of the Corona pandemic – the congregation of Kleiner Michel opened its church for neighborhood assistance for the benefit series.Susanne Beyer waives her fee. Admission is free. Donations from visitors are welcome. They will benefit the ongoing project work for the preservation and renovation of the Ledigenheim.Registration requested: at anmeldung@stiftungros.de or by phone: 040 29813888.
