Ana Vidovic is undeniably one of the most impressive classical guitarists of our time. It's not just her sophisticated playing technique, but above all her dedication and passion that have earned her a firm place among the greatest virtuosos in the guitar world.
"Her playing," according to the Washington Post, is "not only nearly flawless, detailed, and precise, but also full of personality, intensity, and both deeply felt and thoughtful."
The native Croatian has won an impressive number of international awards. These include first prizes at the International Albert Augustine Competition in Bath (England), the Fernando Sor Competition in Rome, and the Francisco Tárrega Competition in Benicàssim (Spain). After her education in Zagreb, the then 18-year-old was invited to study with Manuel Barrueco at the Peabody Conservatory in Baltimore, Maryland.
She began to develop a passion for the guitar at the age of five. At seven, she gave her first concert, and at just 13, she was the youngest student to date at the National Music Academy in Zagreb.
