From November 5-8, 2026, the 12th Hamburg Guitar Festival will take place for the first time under the title "Hanse Guitar Festival". The program once again includes concerts, courses, and workshops with numerous internationally recognized guitarists from a wide variety of genres, as well as selected lectures. The exhibition "HANSE GUITAR" and high-caliber contributions on the action stage are also part of the program again. Furthermore, the finals of the HANSE GUITAR CUP will also be played out on the festival stage. For the first time, there will be a spotlight on "Guitar Studies in the North". Friday evening at the Hamburg Guitar Festival always belongs to the fingerstyle guitarists, who always put on a true guitar fireworks display in the Kulturhof. This year, four great acts are back: YouTube star Alexandr Misko, Don Ross & Julie Malia, Jaco Liu, and Giovanni Weiss.

Under the title "HANSE GUITAR CUP," an international competition for young talent is once again being integrated into the Hamburger Gitarrentage program.Following an application round, 12 young guitarists will compete in a tournament-style format across 6 different local Haspa branches to determine three finalists each in the categories of "Concert Guitar" and "Popular Guitar Styles." The final will take place on the stage of the Hamburger Gitarrenfestival. The competition winners will receive, among other things, a performance engagement during the following year's Hamburger Gitarrentage or the 2028 Hamburger Gitarrenfestival, as well as other prizes.
