In the Sneak Club of the Hamburg State Opera, students (individually or as whole classes), volunteers, university students, and apprentices exclusively experience the dress rehearsals of the latest productions and choreographies. Free of charge.

In the dress rehearsal for the latest production, a very special magic unfolds—the tension is in the air. Everything will hopefully be shown without interruption; the teams have been working for years on the pieces and have prepared the productions. Now they are just before the premiere. School classes have the exclusive chance to experience this fascinating interplay and the distinctive atmosphere of a dress rehearsal. Lights out, stage is yours—and the opera adventure begins! Special introductory sessions for school classes take place 45 minutes before the performance at Staatsoper Hamburg and can be booked free of charge on request. Additionally, for selected classes, preparatory workshops and post-performance discussions are held at the school. Resource packs and online orientation sessions for teachers help the class prepare independently for attending the performance.

A group of teenagers sets out to defy the crises of the present. Their role model: Klaus Störtebeker – feared pirate, avenger of the oppressed, and immortal legend. Based on the libretto of a lost Baroque opera, this spectacular family adventure reinterprets the old myth. A fast-paced odyssey between fantasy thriller and road movie in the unique tent atmosphere of the Kuppel Hamburg.

Crises need heroes – and stories that inspire courage. With opera mobile #2, a mobile musical theater piece developed specifically for young people is once again being created for Hamburg schools. The special feature: Students can actively help shape the production and, inspired by the premiere of Störtebeker, creatively engage with hero myths. What does courage sound like? What does commitment sound like? Together with a professional artistic team and the Alsterspatzen, a musical theater piece will be created within a project week for the school auditorium or gymnasium.
