    Readings
Starting from the slogan „The rich supply the weapons – the poor supply the bodies.“ Olivier David gathers texts about war, class violence, and culture. The volume examines the connections between external rearmament and internal social war. Because, according to David, wars do not take place in a vacuum, „they are merely the bloodiest manifestation of the same violence to which a part of the working class is subjected daily.“The Poor Supply the Bodies is a collection against the notion that poverty is individual failure, and thus against atomization.David combines political analysis with personal experience and asks who is allowed to live in this society, who must survive, and who is repeatedly made to serve the interests of capital and nation. His angry and partisan texts insist that being affected is not just a wound, but can also become a starting point for resistance. The reading will be moderated by the journalist and author Sebastian Friedrich.

Three men, three generations, three decisions in response to the question: What do I do if war breaks out? The nameless narrator in the monologue "Only Over My Dead Body" reflects on three generations of dealing with wars and military service in his family. Starting from his own refusal, he delves into the story of his grandfather, who was accused of treason in 1940 and deported to Sachsenhausen. Through his father and his imprisonment during his military service in the French army, the narrator bridges to the present: How would I decide today if war broke out? Against the backdrop of a newly emerging debate about military readiness and conscription, the play asks about the societal and personal traumas that are rooted in fascism and continue to shape the present. "Are we experiencing the rise of a new fascism?" the narrator asks. "No, it's not that simple," he reassures. "And yet, we don't need to pretend there's no direct connection between my grandfather and the corpse cart on which he had to transport the murdered to the crematoria in Sachsenhausen, and the here and now."

They come from Istanbul, from Spain, from the Black Sea – with suitcases full of hope, dreams, and the hunger for a different life. Germany needs them, and in return, they receive cramped dormitory rooms, a foreign language, and lower wages for the same work as men. First in a porcelain factory and then in a car factory in 1970s Germany, they toil in the "low-wage group." Nour, Tülay, and Mercedes refuse to accept this and are not discouraged. "The Optimists" tells the story of these three guest workers, of strike days, setbacks, and friendship across language barriers. Three women who refuse to remain invisible. With wit, stubbornness, and unwavering solidarity, they fight for the right to equal pay, education, and to be heard. Gün Tank paints a portrait of women whose names rarely appear in history books – and whose struggle is not yet over today.
