Rebel Monster is one of the first Volbeat tribute bands in Europe! When considering the career of Drug Church and their image, it quickly becomes clear that the band doesn't take itself too seriously. With their '80s-influenced alternative rock sound, which they like to enrich with post-hardcore, punk, and grunge influences across their five albums and three EPs, Drug Church has become a celebrated figure in the modern US punk and hardcore scene. Is there a German rock band whose songs have hardly lost any relevance even after over 50 years? Probably not many, but certainly one: Ton Steine Scherben. Ton Steine Scherben was founded in 1970 in West Berlin by R. P. S. Lanrue (real name Ralph Peter Steitz), Rio Reiser (real name Ralph Möbius), Kai Sichtermann, and Wolfgang Seidel, all of whom were around 20 years old at the time. After the early death of their singer Rio Reiser (†1996), the band returned to the stage in various formations in the new millennium. Two of the original members are still touring today through German-speaking countries: Kai Sichtermann (bass, since 1970) and drummer Funky K. Götzner (since 1974, now playing Cajón). From April 2023, they will perform together with singer-songwriter nominee Birte Volta (vocals, guitar). Birte embodies both folk blues and the rock 'n' roll that evolved from it with passion and poetry, drawing on years of experience on the street and stage both at home and abroad, with her solo project as well as being a singer and guitarist in various formations of these genres. Soon the gears meshed together and a very special concept was created, which brings two bands of the "darker" genre to the concert stages in one package. "Kiss of Dawn – a tribute to H.I.M." pays tribute as the only HIM tribute band in Germany to the Finnish dark rockers around frontman Ville Valo. On the other hand, "A Night in Temptation" deals with two musical role models: the Finnish symphonic metallers of Nightwish and the Dutch colleagues of "Within Temptation". The inclusion of similar genre pieces, such as from Depeche Mode, Sisters of Mercy or Type O’Negative, perfectly complements the "Gothic Metal Night".The two bands not only form a musical symbiosis. "Kiss of Dawn" and "A Night in Temptation" evoke a "darkly beautiful" atmosphere with their melodic and melancholic pieces, which is further supported by the suitable stage design: grave lights, five-armed candelabras and flame lights give the evening the right atmosphere. This is rounded off at the end of the event by the large "sea of wonder candles".
