The open mic at Mathilde is back!Do you enjoy writing and want to read your texts on stage? Do you like to be inspired and moved by the writings of others? Then our open mic is the place for you!To sign up to read, please register at text-vorlesen@gmx.de, stating the type of text and the required stage time (ideally a maximum of about ten minutes, shorter is also fine, of course). Furthermore, it is important to us: any devaluation of other people, for example in the form of sexism, racism, ableism, classism, or similar, has no place on our stage!

The study of the Duck Universe – that is, the world about which Carl Barks and Erika Fuchs reported between the 1940s and 1970s within the scope of their limited understanding – has represented a scientific challenge for more than five decades, to which Donaldists dedicate themselves with remarkable persistence.The lecture deals with the question of the temporal process in Duckburg. If one reads the individual stories in isolation, time seems to progress continuously. However, when considering the complete works, this impression largely disappears. While there are structural changes that endure – such as the first appearance of Magica De Spell or other characters –, the inhabitants of Duckburg never remember specific previous attempts by the Beagle Boys to seize the fortune of banker Scrooge McDuck. Such observations suggest interpreting the individual stories not as temporally serial, but rather as temporally parallel developments in Duckburg.Hans von Storch, born in 1949, was first "Donaldized" in the 1960s before dedicating himself to Donaldism with growing seriousness in the 1970s. Danish and Norwegian Donald magazines, which he discovered and came to appreciate at the specialist shop Fantask in Copenhagen, had a decisive influence. From 1976 to 1985, he published the specialist journal Der Hamburger Donaldist, which was subsequently continued under the title Der Donaldist.
