An event in the series Weltkulturerbe Kontore & Speicherstadt | Stattreisen HamburgUNESCO World Heritage Kontorhausviertel and Speicherstadt TourOn this city tour we experience the UNESCO World Heritage Kontorhausviertel with the famous Chilehaus, which this year celebrates its 100th anniversary, and the equally outstanding Sprinkenhof as well as the traditional warehouses of the Speicherstadt.Where the Gängeviertel once stood, Kontorhäuser were built in the old town for the rising port city, providing offices for rent for the expanding trade. Along the way we will visit some of the distinctive Treppenhäuser (only on weekdays).In der Speicherstadt a different world awaits us: unique warehouses, canals, bridges, loading hatches and castle-like façades. Here goods from around the world were stored: spices, pepper, tobacco, cacao beans, coffee and more. We also see the International Maritime Museum, the magnificent HHLA Administration Building, the Wasserschloss, the Fleetschlößchen, as well as carpet merchants who still use the Speicher as storage spaces.We walk through two outstanding urban quarters that illustrate Hamburg's dynamic mercantile development. På denne byvandring oplever vi UNESCOs verdensarv Kontorhausviertel med det berømte Chilehaus og det også fremragende Sprinkenhof samt de traditionelle lagerhuse ved vandet.På stedet for de tidligere gadeklumper er der i den gamle by blevet bygget kontorhuse til den voksende havneby, som har stillet kontorer til rådighed for den ekspanderende handel til leje. På vejen besøger vi nogle af de særlige trappehuse.I Speicherstadt træder vi ind i en anden verden: unikke lagerhuse, kanaler, broer, lasteluger og slotlignende facader. Her blev varer fra hele verden opbevaret: krydderier,peber, tobak, kakaobønner, kaffe m.v. Vi ser også Maritimt Museum, den pragtfulde HHLA-administrationsbygning, vandborgen samt tæppehandlere, som stadig bruger lagerhusene som opbevaringsrum.Vi går gennem to fremragende bykvarterer, der tydeliggør den dynamiske udvikling af handelsbyen Hamburg. Til afslutning giver vi et lille indblik i Hafencity, som bringer centrum helt ned til Elben.
