The exhibition "Respect. An exhibition about being different together," developed by the DASA Working World Exhibition in Dortmund, invites primarily young people to engage with central questions on identity, discrimination, and equality. The focus is on exchanging ideas about respectful interactions in school, during vocational training, and when entering the workforce.
At the heart of the exhibition are questions about who we are, what defines us, to whom we belong, and what we are made into. The exhibition employs a variety of different mediation formats: short texts, video clips, and graphics are combined with playful activities, modules for self-reflection, and spaces for debate.
Thus, Respect offers school classes and youth groups an exciting opportunity to receive new conversation starters together outside the classroom in a colorful and stimulating atmosphere, while exploring the roots of prejudices and discriminatory behavior. Additionally, the role of language in interpersonal communication will be addressed. In a job speed dating event, young people will learn about the many clichés often associated with career choices, and on a timeline, they can travel back in time and assign milestones in the history of equality to years and events.
