Museum of the Former Extermination Camp in Sobibor

Sobibor was one of the extermination camps operated by Nazi Germany during World War II as part of “Operation Reinhard” for the systematic extermination of European Jews. It is located in eastern Poland and began operating in 1942. Sobibor played a devastating role in the Holocaust, in which approximately 180,000 people, mainly Jews, were brutally murdered. In recent years, the Sobibor Museum has undergone a transformative redevelopment process, resulting in the creation of a new exhibition and memorial site for visitors. The Sobibor extermination camp and Wlodawa are less than a 3.5-hour drive from Warsaw, making it possible to visit them on a day trip.
