A Turkish-Brazilian duo in Studio 1 Concert: Guitarist and composer Lucas Brum introduces himself together with singer Cansu Arat in the Studio 1 Concert – contemporary big band writing of almost majestic calm.Lucas Brum is one of those who have internationalized Hamburg jazz in recent years. The guitarist and composer has had his own big band in Brazil, won the (classical) composition competition "Concurso de Composição Erudita Gramado in Concert," and worked on the "Brazilian Groove Book" by drum luminary Kiko Freitas.In reality, however, Brum did not come to Hamburg to increase his Brazilian fame, but to internationalize his Brazilian background through a master's degree, meaning to deepen his classical core competencies in Western concert music such as exposition, development, and reprise. One often becomes more aware of home when abroad; at the Hamburg University of Music, Brum met the Turkish singer Cansu Arat. A few language-didactic introductions, and a Turkish-Brazilian duo was formed.
