From the early 1990s well into the 2010s, Göring was one half of Stereo Total, the much-loved band he led together with his partner Françoise Cactus. The duo achieved cult status from America to France (Cactus's homeland) – thanks to their enthusiastic DIY attitude and the fruitful interplay of cross-genre experiments. Since Françoise Cactus tragically passed away in 2021, Göring has dedicated himself to the legacy of his partner's distinctive artistic sensibility. She was a passionate writer, and Göring soon stumbled upon one of her unpublished books. Forever 16, which opens in cinemas on August 27, is Göring's cinematic elegy to this rediscovered work.
