In this event, we will provide an overview of the great diversity of rotifer species and examine these tiny animals under the microscope.A brief introduction will first provide an overview of the taxonomic classification of rotifers, as well as a description of their structure and fascinating reproductive strategy. The introduction will be rounded off with example images.This will be followed by microscopic examination of samples containing various rotifers. Where possible, we will attempt to identify the species. We will provide samples, but participants are welcome to bring their own.The following small selection of standard microscopy equipment should also be brought along:Pipette, slides, cover slipsEquipment is available for welcome guests!The event is free of charge.

The event offers the opportunity to study orchid aerial roots with and without fungal infection through practical work, as well as the opportunity to learn about studies, including microphotographs, on the mycorrhiza of Czech orchids.
