A piece developed by Brigitte Dethier, Till Wiebel, and ensemble. Directed by Brigitte Dethier."Second right, and then straight on until tomorrow morning." If you believe the legendary Peter Pan, that's where Neverland is located, an island where children never grow up. Neverland operates under a very special principle that challenges our imagination: you have to imagine it for it to take shape. You have to believe in something for it to happen. And so, on the day of the theater performance, imagination becomes a saving grace. Because: it was planned differently. Nothing is prepared. But the vision of how it should have been opens the door to a colorful universe, complete with a fairy on the drums, an exciting pirate duel, and many thoughts so good they make you fly. After the highly acclaimed premiere of Nimmerland in 2023, Brigitte Dethier's production returns to the Junge SchauSpielHaus in a new version, taking the audience on a poetic and musical journey once again. In a biographical exploration of the legendary island, childhood memories and playful daydreams collide with imaginative costumes and a lot of stage magic. So what are you waiting for? Let's head towards Neverland: "Second right, and then straight on until tomorrow morning."Recommended for grades 3-6

in a version by Hermann Book and Sonja Szillinsky. by Ödön von Horváth. Directed by Klaus Schumacher.“Cold times are coming, the age of the fish. Then the human soul will become as immobile as the face of a fish.” A teacher observes how the misanthropic Nazi ideology is solidifying among his students. His own conviction – that all people should have equal rights – finds no place in this totalitarian regime. As a result, he increasingly finds himself in conflicts that repeatedly force him to choose between conformity and defiance. When the teacher has to accompany his class to a pre-military camp in the mountains, intended to contribute to the young people's war readiness, disaster strikes: a student is found murdered, and a crime story begins, in the course of which questions of guilt, responsibility, and sincerity are explored. The pressure on the teacher mounts, as there is something he is concealing.Ödön von Horváth's novel was published in 1937 by an exile publisher and was immediately banned by the National Socialists. It describes a society founded on hardness and obedience, whose concept of truth is dictated by the system. Actor Hermann Book and director Klaus Schumacher approach the teacher's perspective in a compelling monologue, an ambivalent figure oscillating between being a follower and the desire to act according to his own values.Recommended for grades 9-13

by Lili Roesing / Postgraduate Project.15-year-old Leo seems to be caught in the middle of everything: Between his parents, who have separated. Between his classmates and his best friend Toni. Between being a child and becoming a man. And above all: Between his feelings.Does he even have such things? And if so, how do you talk about them? And with whom? With his friends? With Toni? Or even with his father, with whom he can actually only talk about soccer? When Leo comes across the so-called "Alpha Males" and "Sigma Boys" – role models from the "Manosphere" – while scrolling on TikTok, he thinks he finally understands where he should be heading: Looksmaxxing. Self-optimization. Going to the gym. Earning money and becoming a real leader, these should be his goals. Leo finally has role models and concrete instructions on how the path to "being a real man" should proceed. He doesn't realize what he could lose along the way. And soon Leo will have to decide what kind of person – and what kind of man – he really wants to become.Against the backdrop of the ever-increasing influence of social media on young people, Margit Pötzsch's and Lili Roesing's production, from a cross-generational perspective, offers a profound and empathetic look at the mechanisms behind the formation of gender stereotypes. With ALPHA, the sixth postgraduate project is being realized, in which graduates of the Hamburg Theatre Academy create a production for a young audience.Recommended for grades 7-13
