Hamburg's wildest mating dance is the kickoff of the festival series at the MS-Dockville grounds. The queer masquerade ball in the bushes, nests, and roosts on Reiherstieg in Wilhelmsburg has long become an institution for local dance enthusiasts. Crazy, crazier, Bird Ball. The ritual includes the bird metamorphosis with friends in the comfort of home, just as much as the subsequent swarm cycling through the Old Elbtunnel, accompanied by chirping, ringing, and chatter. On-site, the self-made feather costumes and glittery accessories flutter to the rhythm-giving beats – deep into the next morning. Electronic beats. The Bird Ball is characterized by its interplay of music, dance, and performance, a diverse selection of electronic artists and DJs, and an enthusiastic audience full of exotic birds and Wunderkinder. With wild sounds, the night turns into day, and feather dresses become costumes. More information about the Bird Ball Festival 2025 and the program can be found here.
