Women were active in various forms of entertainment culture in St. Pauli. Nevertheless, they regularly stood in the shadow of their sometimes famous male colleagues. On this guided tour, we trace the history of the many dancers, singers, performers, and occasionally entrepreneurs, and highlight their significant contribution to the entertainment arts of the 19th and 20th centuries.
