From Unnastrasse in Eimsbüttel, Beiersdorf developed from a plaster manufacturer into an international cosmetics group, expanding its production to Lokstedt. In parallel, the Philips/Valvo factory for radio and military tubes on the site next to Beiersdorf became today's producer of semiconductor components, Nexperia/NXP. For a long time, many women from Eimsbüttel, in particular, found work here. We will explore the history of these two corporations, important to the district, on a tour through the former industrial area. This will also cover the changes in working conditions and the fate of female forced laborers in these factories, classified as "war-essential production facilities" during World War II.Guides: Janja Nahrstaedt and Werner BradinalRegistration is not required.
