Permanent Exhibition
Join us on a journey through time that starts around 200 years ago, when night watchmen with lanterns and rattles used to roam the dark night, and leads up to the present day. Immerse yourself in the exciting world of forensic science and detective work, and explore its history.
Or do you prefer true crime stories?
In our atmospheric attic, we introduce you to, among others, the department store robber Dagobert, tell the story of the serial offender Fritz Honka, and the contract killer from Hamburg's Reeperbahn, Mucki Pitzner. With original artifacts, you can delve deep into the tangible history of the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg and its police force.
Engage in exciting museum conversations with our retired colleagues, have handcuffs put on you, and get locked in a real prison cell. Have you always wanted to wear a real police helmet or sit in a radio patrol car or helicopter? Come and visit us and experience the police in a way you may not have known before.
Located directly on the grounds of the Hamburg Police Academy is our historically interesting building. If you're lucky, you might catch the water cannon refueling or see the motorcycle squad practicing for a show.
Are you a group and would you like to be guided through the museum? We offer various guided tours for young and old (by prior appointment). Please don't hesitate to contact our hotline or email us for this purpose.
Further helpful information is also available on our website and on our Facebook page.
