    5. green food festival – green talks, workshops & tastings
    Sat 05.09. 10:00 - Sun 06.09. 04:00

John Carroll KirbyJohn Carroll Kirby is a busy person. Stylistically, he is just as difficult to describe as his career as a musician itself. Deeply rooted in jazz, Kirby combines various genres and styles with his characteristic sound: Funk, Fusion, New Age, Ambient, Electro, or Exotica – you name it. As a sought-after collaborator, he has also worked with such renowned names as Miley Cyrus, Frank Ocean, Harry Styles, and Solange. In 2023, he even received a Grammy nomination in the "Song of the Year" category for his contribution to Steve Lacy's song "Bad Habit." However, his solo career has been the focus since 2020: Since then, he has released 8 albums and can now boast two Libera Award nominations for Jazz Album of the Year. He regularly receives rave reviews from discerning media outlets such as Pitchfork, The Fader, or the Los Angeles Times. Kirby is also active as a film composer. For example, he contributed the soundtrack to Cryptozoo, which won the NEXT Innovator Award at the Sundance Film Festival. He also scored The Luckiest Man in America, starring Paul Walter Hauser and Walton Goggins. Most recently, his music provided the soundtrack for the Oscar-nominated short film Retirement Plan. On September 24, 2026, John Carroll Kirby will perform a solo concert at the resonanzraum. Conveniently, the resonanzraum is located in close proximity to the Synthesizer Studio Hamburg of Frank Husemann and Sunny Vollherbst. Anyone who has already experienced John Carroll Kirby live can guess what a beautiful symbiosis could arise from this. The concert is the first collaboration between Konzertdirektion Palme and the Überjazz Festival. Accordingly, the concert will also be musically framed by music from the turntable – a kind of Überjazz satellite, so to speak.

CLASSIC x TECHNOFor the third time, the concert and club series AMI TECHNU returns to Uebel & Gefährlich. With the new edition "KLANG.KRAFT. WERK." (SOUND.POWER. WORK.), a night is created that combines Jewish mysticism, Gustav Mahler's music, and electronic club culture. At its center is the philosophy of Tikkun Olam – the "repair of the world": the question of what we can set right today – within ourselves, between us, in society. Gustav Mahler's classical music merges with electronic sounds to create a new movement and a space that makes change palpable. The night unfolds in three parts – like a ritual.

The 2nd Blue Concert of the festival DIE BLAUE WOCHE moves through different levels of perception: musical works become visible, sounds physically palpable. A space unfolds in which hearing, seeing, and feeling connect. Sound and visuals react to each other, creating new perspectives. A concert in the resonance space that is not just heard, but experienced – and sets perception in motion.
