Spinning wool and flax used to be among the regular activities of farmers' wives and maids. They would sit together in the Flett in the evenings, doing needlework and telling stories.Gabriela Pohl teaches this old cultural and handicraft technique, which is currently back in vogue as part of slow fashion and sustainable resource use, in the Flett at the Rieck Haus open-air museum.Registration directly with the instructor at 01520 980 56 36.Cost per hour/person €40, use of a spinning wheel and wool are included.
