Santuario de Torreciudad

Torreciudad is a spectacular Marian shrine in the Aragon region, offering beautiful views of the snow-capped Pyrenees. It is just 2 hours and 45 minutes from Barcelona and was built in 1975 by the founder of Opus Dei, Saint Josemaría Escrivá de Balaguer. It is a must for every Catholic and is included in the Marian routes (ask me about Marian routes—I also offer other tours to Lourdes, Montserrat, and Meritxell). Beyond religion and faith, it is also interesting to observe the area’s beauty and nature, but I would not recommend it to people for whom religion and faith are not the main reason for taking the day trip. I offer other day trips that are more interesting in such cases. Local food and drinks (Somontano wines are among the best Spanish wines) are also a highlight of this trip, as are the peach, almond, and cherry blossoms in early spring, grape growth in summer, and the changing colors of the leaves in autumn.
