Bovestraße School

Date: October 10–11, 2026 Location: Bovestrasse 12 Primary School Time: Sat, 12–6 p.m., Sun, 11 a.m.–3 p.m. Information and registration at www.chorworkshop.com At the “Groove im Chor” choir workshops, a large group of music enthusiasts comes together with one shared goal: finally getting to sing, sing, sing! Award-winning Hamburg choir professionals Sörin Bergmann and Martin Carbow offer a creative, high-energy program that gets voices and souls singing and swinging. Some participants have been coming for years, while others are enjoying the experience for the first time – most have never met one another before. Choir directors, students and experienced music teachers are also among them, looking for fresh inspiration or simply for the joy of singing together. The rousing arrangements from pop, gospel and jazz are rehearsed without sheet music using the “call and response” technique. This loosens up the atmosphere, creates an authentic gospel feeling and invites improvisation. When learning the pieces, the work focuses particularly intensively on GROOVE and movement, so the rhythm really gets going! The charismatic and approachable choir leaders love bringing hesitant singers out of their shells. Many do not know beforehand what they have inside them, but once they discover it, sparks truly fly here!
