Sonic Pi brings music and programming together, opening up new perspectives for teaching. Computer science teachers get to know a programming environment in which fundamental concepts do not remain abstract but can be experienced immediately through sound. Music teachers, in turn, gain an unconventional approach to composing and creating music that is interesting for both beginners and experienced musicians.In this workshop as part of MINT.Woche, we will work through Sonic Pi’s most important functions step by step and write code that generates melodies, sounds and rhythms. Programming becomes tangible as a musical tool, and fundamental computer science concepts can be experienced concretely instead of merely being discussed theoretically.No prior knowledge is required. The training teaches the basics and is deliberately intended as a starting point for developing individual teaching ideas and possible applications across different types of schools and subjects.Registration via Pretix is requested.
