Yet at the same time, they define themselves by a common enemy: the modern world, the open society, the urban way of life. Upon closer inspection, both prove to be very similar reactionary responses to the challenges of modernity.The philosopher and podcaster Sebastian Schnelle highlights the often overlooked intersections between the New Right, the Alt-Right, and Islamism. These include the rejection of reason, misogyny, the disregard for human rights, and contempt for democracy.
