Binge-watching, but in real life. On September 5, 2026, Hamburg will once again become a stage: at the 22nd Theaternacht Hamburg. For one night, over 35 stages will open their doors and curtains, inviting you on a unique journey of discovery through the city's diverse theater landscape. Over 200 program items invite you to discover new stages, take a look behind the scenes, and experience the varied offerings of Hamburg's theaters. From major stages to the independent scene, from drama and dance to musical theater – Theaternacht Hamburg makes the diversity of theater tangible in one evening. Our Theaternacht program:HEAVEN CAN WAIT CHORAt Theaternacht, the HEAVEN CAN WAIT CHOR will present an excerpt from their current show "Jetzt erst recht!" (Now more than ever!). For over 10 years, the choir from Hamburg has been winning the hearts of audiences. And because you're never too old, even over 70, they're taking off with their program "Jetzt erst recht!"! New: They will also present self-composed and self-written songs. And so, the (G)oldies will rock the stage again with their current program: colorful, young, and cheeky.

Tobias Mann and Philip Simon have GROUNDLESSLY GOOD MOOD! The two cabaret artists have been friends for many years and are constantly chatting about everything under the sun. So why not let God and the world listen in!?!The two satirical truffle pigs are going on tour with their cabaret podcast! As usual, they will satirically sharp and comedically pointedly dig through current and classic quotes from politics and society – this time even in front of an audience. The show will, of course, be recorded for posterity and pushed into the digital world.

Lily KingReading and ConversationShe studied literature and knows how good love stories work: secrets, highs, lows. But the greatest love story of her life, she experienced herself, and it follows no rules. In the last year of her studies, the narrator meets Sam and Yash, two highly gifted students from her seminar on 17th-century literature. The two live in the house of a professor who is traveling, they read, they argue, they play cards, they talk fast and think even faster. They give her the nickname Jordan and draw her into a world of books, ambition, and wit. Friendship turns into a web of love, desire, and dangerous attraction. What initially seems like the beginning of a free adult life becomes an experience whose consequences only become visible later...With "Herz König" (King of Hearts), Lily King presents a novel about first love, friendship, and the long-lasting impact of early decisions. At the same time, it is a book about literature itself: about reading as seduction, about language as a game, about conversations in which an entire life seems to open up. King tells this story with the precision for which she is known: without grand claims, with a feel for nuances, for self-deception, for the humor and vulnerability of people.Lily King, born in 1963, grew up in Massachusetts and now lives in Maine. Her work has received numerous awards. In German, her works include "Euphoria" and "Vater des Regens" (Father of the Rain).
