Four friends are on a luxury yacht together: Konstanze, Belmonte, Blonde, and Pedrillo. A violent storm throws everything into disarray. While Belmonte is left behind at sea, the other three are stranded on a mysterious island. This island is ruled by a wise Pasha named Selim. Osmin, who loves to write lists and keep everything under control, watches over order and rules. On the island, different worlds collide: order and freedom, fear and courage, rules and friendship. Mozart's famous arias and ensembles are retold in a new libretto that clarifies the plot and makes it more accessible to young audiences. The characters are allowed to be funny, strict, brave, or fearful – and they are allowed to change. This children's opera invites you to laugh together, cheer along, and listen. With this musical fairy tale, the Theater for Children continues its endeavor to imaginatively introduce children to the genre and inspire them for musical theater.
