As we circle the cemetery, we pass through the five districts of Ohlsdorf, Klein Borstel, Wellingsbüttel, Bramfeld, and Steilshoop, which could hardly be more different from each other. We follow the historic cemetery fence, pass through allotment garden areas, cycle along the shore of Bramfelder See, encounter the adjacent Jewish Cemetery, and see Hamburg’s largest continuous row house development from the 1930s. During the tour, we pass all cemetery entrances and also make small detours into the world’s largest park cemetery to visit mausoleums of well-known Hamburg citizens as well as the Pröckelmoorteich, home to rare bird species and tortoises. Our ride through lush greenery offers unknown paths and perspectives and provides plenty of inspiration for further excursions. The bike tour ends at the starting point.
