City Walks
Occupied houses, scene clubs, and shared apartments - in the 1970s, Eppendorf was one of Hamburg's first "scene districts" before it became a gentrified affluent quarter.
Between Eppendorfer Baum and St. Johannis, we encounter the Eppendorfer Brunnenanstalt and a country house garden. We meet "Onkel Pö" and Wolfgang Borchert, Ernst Thälmann, and the mysterious Eppendorfer Kohlstrunk. Cafés and owner-managed shops line the way through stately Wilhelminian-era streets and to outstanding brick buildings from the 1920s.
